So, on Saturday I was approached by a man who engaged in a conversation with me about what he felt being Creole really is.
His name was Dr. Bob Boudreaux.

As Dr. Boudreaux and I discussed the "Creole" issue the conversation just flowed in to a nice vibe...and then we ended up laughing at it all.

Today, I was looking at a photo of myself with sunglasses on (as I have decided to 'brand myself with sungalsses.....lol
and I realized that my nose resembled the bottom half of a fleur de lis... (I just happen to love fleur de lis's).

When creating the Earth in a circular shape, God intentionally embedded symbolic meaning into its form.

After losing numerous family members and then enduring the healing process, I unfortunately feel the need to report that the circle has been broken again.

This time with the death of my Aunt Melvina’s Son, my Mothers Nephew, my First Cousin, Kerwin Mitchell.

Kerwin passed this morning and I already am feeling the shift of the circle as it grows smaller. I am in pain but not nearly as much as my cousins.

However, I, personally ask for nothing but prayers for the Kerwin Mitchell family; his wife and children, his siblings and nieces and nephews.

Kerwin carried a persona of someone who had a natural smile… even in his serious mode he appeared to be smiling…and his vibe was always that of a kind spirit.

If you knew him, you know what I’m talking about.

Rest well my sweet cousin but go ye not quietly into that dark night… make some music joyful church organ music 🎶 as you were known to do.

Aunt Melvina and your Auntie Teen, will surely usher you into heaven. All of the elders were waiting for you…of this, I am sure.

As for the rest of us, we are heartbroken but we know that we will see you again.

Always Love,❤️
Sibby

HUMILITY can be a strange thing as it could leave one temporarily speechless, paralyzed from action and bringing you to your knees as you succumb to a sudden feeling of pensive shyness and inexplicable solitude.
-and then comes the tears…
-and then comes the gratitude statement to the one who ‘ingratiated’ you with this experience.
-And his name is GOD.
-And every fiber of your being knows that HE is the one and the only one, who could have made this experience possible.

For (3) days, I was rendered speechless. In spite of the fact that I wanted to engage with my FB Friends, I could not find the words to relay my message.

This morning, I have found my voice:

On April 1, I received an email from Amazon, explaining that my first book was in review.
On April 3, I received another email explaining that my book was now available for purchase.

Y’all, I cried the entire day as I was feeling so grateful and yet, I wanted my Mom to physically be by my side to share this experience with me…I am confident that she was here in spirit and from that confidence, I am moved to write the following;

Last year, I set out on a journey to write a book about the Cajun/ Creole Culture.

I didn’t want to write another history book filled with familiar tales about famous or popular people….but instead, I wanted to tell a story that would resonate with our youth as well as, our adults and even senior citizens.

The result is a book entitled: THE RESCUE “DAWGS” of THE SOUTHERN COAST.

This book is now set to be a series of books. It tells a compelling story of the adventures of the first, true SOUTHERN SUPER HEROES.

These adventures will lead the reader through a journey of nostalgia and one may find oneself saying, “ Oooooh, yes! I remember that!”

This first book th at was just released and is now available for purchase, start off at a moderate pace and yet, it prepares the reader for the exciting that is to come.

I will be posting various FB messages about THE RESCUE “DAWGS” OF THE SOUTHERN COAST …
Including fun information about unique prizes that I will be giving away to express my gratitude for your support.

… and your support is greatly needed at this time:
Please purchase my book at the following site:
Amazon.com

I’ll post more later but know that I am forever humbled and have a deep yearning to bring great pride to my Southern Coast.

Always Love,
Humbled,

Capturing Kokopelli...

Yesterday was Wednesday...
It was one of those perfectly beautiful 'transitional' days that we experience as the spring starts to make her journey south...

And I was fortunate enough to have receievd a call that changed the course of my day. I was headed to one island and ended up on another...
..and when I finally got home, and put my SD Card into the reader, I was mesmerized.

To the men with whom, I did not exchange names and yet they gave the ok for me to photograph them...I Thank You.

To the Sun who danced as I inhaled and exhaled and rubbed my eyes to clarify her beauty...I Thank You.

To my friends who may find a second or two to enjoy this post...I Thank You.

This is the Isle de Jean Charles in Terrebonne Parish. If you have never been there I hope that you will find the time soon...it's almost completely gone but shall forever be a beautiful testimonial to the endurance of the human spirit; to be exact, the native spirit of our indigenous people - The Indians.

As I drove in to the residential area, I was overtaken with a strong sense of spirit ( somewhat like a strange foreboding)...I'm so not kidding here...there's a lot of mixed energy in this place and I could feel it.

I'm only sharing (1) of many beautiful photos that I shot while on the island because these are actually meant to be used as content for my books. Not one of these has been photo-shopped or changed in any manner....

Mother Nature was extremely kind to me and the Sun was my accomplice in allowing me to take some breathtaking photos for my second book in the series of books called:
THE RESCUE "DAWGS" OF THE SOUTHERN COAST.

Note - Although I am a Surveyor and I take photographs of structures for a living, I only contract out my services to insurance companies...I am not in the least bit a professional photographer.

The Man in the photo conjured up a memory of when I visited the Grand Canyon several years ago.

When you visit the Southwest, you will here lots of their folklore. One of the characters that is spoken of often is a funny little fellow called, "Kokopelli" who plays a flute and dances around but is quite a Ladies Man...lol...I'll leave the rest to your imagination...
However, I encourage you to research "Kokopelli" to understand my photo a little more indepth.

I have come to the conclusion that 'folklore' is the most beautiful and poetic manner in which a culture can define itself. We must exchange our stories so that we may better understand each other, and thus, better understand ourselves.
-Sabina A. Miller..and today, I set out for a different Island...hopefully, I'll catch the sun as she sets in that seascape.

Always Love,
Always Grateful.
and Forever Humbled for these amazing blessings,
sabina
