Well, Ash here… I’ve got some news.
Yesterday, I had my MRI and just got home from the doctor. Verdict: I’ve completely torn my ACL and have a lovely collection of fluid sloshing around in my knee. A+ for dramatic flair, right?
The good news? Surgery is a 45-minute outpatient deal—quick and relatively easy (for them… I just have to do all the work beforehand). Before we schedule it, my doctor wants me to get my full range of motion back. He gave me 3 weeks. I told him, “I’ll see you in one. I’ve got pies to make and people to feed!”
So, challenge accepted. I’ve got a snazzy new knee brace and a stubborn streak a mile wide.
I WILL be at the Rockwall Farmers Market this weekend—maybe not with my full usual spread, but I’ll bring as many goodies as I can manage without turning my kitchen into an obstacle course.
Thanks for your love, support, and understanding as I hobble my way through this pie-filled adventure!
P.S. Photo for attention! This is our Terrell Railroad pie—sweet, nutty, and a local favorite. We’ll have plenty by the slice and even a few whole pies ready to go.
