The chickens wouldn’t stop knocking on the back door like tiny feathered Jehovah’s Witnesses
 so we finally found a use for the baby gate that’s been hiding in the closet for 6 years. 🐔😂

This right here is why nothing gets thrown away on the homestead. One day it’s baby equipment
 the next day it’s poultry security.

My favorite quote from the morning comes from Mini Sweetie Pie as I was setting this up

We wanted to start this week off with a gigantic thank you!

Our first weekend back at the Rockwall Farmers Market was absolutely incredible. We had folks finding us while we were still setting up and we SOLD OUT by 10:45 😳 (and yes
 we even brought more than last year!)

From familiar faces to brand new ones, every single stop at the table meant the world to us. Thank you for the laughs, the support, and for making this weekend such a huge success for Sweetie Pies Homestead 💛

Mother’s Day is tomorrow, and nothing says “I love you, Momma” quite like bringing her a fresh homemade pie slice 😌

The past few weeks have been full of behind-the-scenes hustle over here at Sweetie Pies Homestead. Early mornings, late nights, and a whole lot of “just wait, I can’t say yet” conversations. And now we can finally spill one of the topics


Ash was selected as an official judge for the Battle for the Blue Ribbon pie contest at the State Fair of Texas.

Let me say that again, because it still doesn’t feel real:A homestead baker
standing on the other side of the table
judging at the State Fair.

From baking pies for our local markets, events, and holidays to being trusted to taste, critique, and help choose the best of the best
that’s not something we take lightly. Every single pie that crossed that table carried someone’s time, skill, family traditions, and probably a little bit of stress (because let’s be honest—pie judging is serious business 😅).

There’s something incredibly humbling about being part of a tradition like this. The kind of tradition where recipes are handwritten, crust techniques are debated like family politics, and everyone believes their pie could take home that blue ribbon.

And this year
Ash got a front-row seat to it all.

We stayed quiet because it didn’t feel like something to shout about before it happened. It felt like something to soak in, to respect, and honestly
to be a little nervous about. But walking into that judging space, representing not just our homestead but every small baker out there chasing something bigger—it meant everything.

To everyone who has ever bought a pie from us, supported us, shared our posts, or believed in what we’re building
you’re part of this moment too. You helped get us here.

Now we’re back, feet a little tired, hearts very full, and maybe just a bit more inspired than ever.

We’ve added a few new personalities to the flock!!! Meet the newest residents:

Elvira & Morticia (Ayam Cemani): our two all-black little mystery goblins. Dramatic, elegant, and absolutely convinced they are already in charge.

Rosalina (Ancona): the polka-dotted chaos gremlin with main character energy and zero awareness of personal space.

They arrived like they’ve lived here forever

confidence high, manners low, and flight attempts already under review. We’ll be watching their “I think I can fly now” era very closely.

Welcome to Sweetie Pies Homestead, girls. Try not to overthrow the establishment too quickly.

These little hand pies are all boxed up, tied with twine, and trying their best to act innocent
 but we all know the truth đŸ˜đŸ„§

Flaky crust, sweet filling, and just enough charm to make you “accidentally” open the box in the car before you even leave the parking lot. No judgment here
 actually, highly encouraged.

Grab a box, share if you must (but you probably won’t), and don’t blame me when you start planning your next visit before the first bite is gone.

 it’s officially market season again and we are READY đŸ„§âœš

Sweetie Pies will be out at the Rockwall Farmers Market every other weekend from May through September, starting May 9th! Mark your calendars, set your reminders, tell your mama and your neighbor 👀

We’ll have all your favorite pies (the ones that disappear way too fast 😅) plus some goodies you might not expect.

Come early for the best selection
 because once they’re gone, they’re GONE.

Thank you so much to everyone who came out to Texas Pie Fest
 rain, drizzle, downpour and all! â˜”đŸ„§ Y’all showed up anyway, and that made it even more special.

A gigantic thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth, shared kind words, and loved on our pies enough to sell us completely out. We were soggy, a little muddy, and grinning from ear to ear the whole time.

From the bottom of our pie-loving hearts here at Sweetie Pie Homestead
