Sooooo, three weeks ago today my feet took their first steps along this new path God has set me on. Three weeks….seems like forever ago. It seems like ages since I heard that bakery bell ring and walking through that door would be one of you amazing customers who became our friends and even like a little family to us. Do I miss it? Of course my heart misses our chats, smiles, sometimes tears, and above all….the HUGS! I miss working with my sweet mama and creating the goodness of gluten free to share with this awesome community. My heart will forever cherish that chapter in my life for many reasons! ♥️
However, I said YES! (It was a nervous yes but covered with peace) I knew my mama would be retiring “officially” and I wasn’t actively searching for what my next plan would be so when I got this unexpected call about this position it felt right. So, I said yes to taking a teaching position at Terre Haute North High School teaching Culinary Arts. Yes, this is my obligatory first day of school pic and one with my husband, Mark. He took a job there this year too. So, now instead of going to work with my mama, I’m riding to work with my husband. This is also a new thing for us. Ha The last time we were both there we were students! 😳
I’m still learning the ropes and trying to steady my feet but I do love it. The kids are awesome and my co-workers….well I wouldn’t be surviving if it wasn’t for them! They have just taken me in and supported, encouraged and helped me from day one! Truly they are the best of the best and I’m forever grateful!
I waited to share because I wanted it to be officially official and it went through the last school board meeting. So, thank you school board officials for voting yes and thank you THN administration for giving me this beautiful opportunity and believing in me.
Saying yes isn’t always easy but I believe that when we have the courage to say yes (I am a faith girl) when God opens that door you have a peace even when you might be a little
unsteady or even if it is bittersweet!
Also, my mama is enjoying every moment of her official retirement. She misses The Bakery but she is enjoying being a wife, mama and grandmother. AND she hasn’t gave up on baking…..her grandsons have had lots of requests! 😂 This makes my heart happy to see her in this chapter in her life. It is so greatly deserved.
We love each of you and are humbled at the love, kindness, and friendships you have bestowed upon us! We look forward to the next time we see one another and if there is a pop up of any sort we will share here!!
Love and BIG hugs
