FARMERS MARKET RECIPE: Made with Hayes Family Farm jalapeños!
Cowboy Candy:
•7-8 Lbs of fresh jalapeños
•4 cups of apple cider vinegar
•12 cups sugar
•2 teaspoons celery seed
•2 teaspoons cayenne pepper
•8 teaspoons granulated garlic
✨Yes it’s alot of sugar , but it’s for the syrup and makes me a total of 192 oz to can. You can also use the syrup afterwards and turn it into candied jalapeno bbq sauce!✨
-Put apple cider vinegar, sugar, celery seed, cayenne pepper, and granulated garlic into a large pot. Medium heat, stir until sugar liquefies.
-Cut peppers into 1/4 inch (they shrink a lot in the processing).
-Toss jalapeños into syrup, cook on high for 4 minutes and pull off the stove.
-Fill warm/hot sterilized jars up with jalapeños.
-Put liquid back onto stove, boil for 6 minutes to create into a thicker syrup.
-Fill jalapeño filled jars up with syrup.
-Water bath can for 10-15 minutes after rolling boil.
These can be served on pulled pork sandwiches, burgers, margaritas or my personal favorite, cream cheese and ritz crackers!
