Today’s baguettes. Feeling more confident with each batch. They’ll never measure up to the ones I ate regularly as a meal with some butter and canned green beans or ratatouille (also canned) as a grad student teaching and living in France, but they’ll do. There was a boulangerie by my bus stop making it easy to grab one on the way home from work. If I felt flush with francs that day, I’d indulge in a pain au raisin as well. I couldn’t wait until I reached my apartment to take a bite of that baguette, so I’d tear into it while I walked. Hence, the walking baguette. 😋
We will have some available tomorrow with a side of chiltepin butter. I’m telling you, it’s so good. The walking baguette rules.
