But you know what? That’s kind of the point.

When I started Q’s Confections, I decided pretty early on that I wasn’t going to be the cake police. 😂 If someone comes to me with a vision, my job is to bring their vision to life—not decide whether it’s something I would personally put on my own dessert table.

My philosophy has always been pretty simple: if you can dream it, I’ll do my best to cake it. The one place I draw the line is hate (and possibly the Oakland Raiders 🤪).

Beyond that, there’s room at my cake table for people with different personalities, interests, traditions, opinions, and walks of life.

You don’t have to love the subject matter to appreciate the artistry. You don’t have to order a cake to appreciate the work that went into it. And you certainly don’t have to agree with someone else’s choices to recognize that their celebration matters to them.

Q’s Confections is a place for good cake, creativity, and people being unapologetically themselves. So if this particular cake isn’t your thing, that’s perfectly okay! Scroll on by, enjoy the cakes that are your thing, and know that I’ll still be over here happily making cakes for all kinds of people.

Because there’s a lot more that unites us than what we choose to put on top of a cake. ❤️

And apparently, sometimes that cake has w**d on it. 😂🌿🎂

I made sure to record assembling this cake because I thought it would be super cool to have a video of the State Fair’s winning cake. 🙈 🤣 Life humbled me. This cake did not win.
