Summary: Responsible for baking, assembling and packing food products as needed- Cookies and Bread
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include the following:
Other duties may be assigned.
-Produces baked goods and desserts in compliance with standard recipes and department procedures.
-Prepares Cookies, Bread and other bakery items from scratch
-Whip/create creams/custards.
-May assemble and package products
-Maintains a sanitary work area
Skills:
*Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle multiple competing tasks and demands.
*Must have working knowledge of a variety of baking tools and equipment such as mixers and sheeters.
*Must be able to follow recipes and cook from scratch
*Reports to: Assistant Production Manager (Backed up by Asst Production Mgr. or another Baker within department)
Quality responsibilities:
Quality and food safety are the responsibility of all of our employees. Bakers must ensure proper cooking temperatures and adhere to recipes.
Requirements
Education and/or Experience
-Degree from a post-secondary culinary arts training program is desirable
-A minimum of six months in a baker position
-Good communication skills both verbal and written
-Able to communicate with coworkers and management
Other:
-Must possess the ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
-Must be able to work independently as well as in a team environment
-The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee must be able to regularly walk, and use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.
