Posting at the request of Mike France:

I'm going to Asheville NC on Thursday 11/21 to do some volunteering to help out. I've asked the KOA campground where I'm staying for specific needs in the area.

They have requested the following if anyone would like to donate and get to me on Wednesday night.

Blankets, Sleeping Bags, Hats, Gloves, Scarves, anything non-person specific to keep warm. (no clothing)

Also a need was expressed for buddy heaters.

Tomorrow is Brother Luis Torres-Lopez' baptism! Luis has been eagerly learning through the missionaries and will be baptized and confirmed tomorrow after church, with the service beginning at approx. 12:15 p.m. Please come if you can!

The weather continues to look menacing for tomorrow's activity which means we're moving the Ward Pioneer Day Activity to the CHURCH BUILDING at 995 Winston Rd, Tappahannock. Same time, same fun, see you there!

This upcoming Sunday, we will sing one hymn from the new selection of hymns! Our chorister, Stacey Dillon, has selected hymn #1001 (you read that right) which is "Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing". To prepare to sing this new hymn, please access and listen to it in the Gospel Library.

Instructions to find the new hymns:
1. Open the Gospel Library app
2. Select 'Library'
3. Select 'Music'
4. Select 'Hymns--For Home and Church'

We will be attempting one new hymn each week in sacrament so please come prepared! For those who cannot access the Gospel Library app, we will have printed copies of the sheet music available. We look forward to worshipping together through this new selection of hymns!

The Essex Churches Together is having a bake sale Saturday, October 21st at the Tappahannock Farmers Market and our church is responsible for the baked goods. Bake goods are needed to sell. Baked goods can be brought on Friday, October 20th to

Canceled: All Sunday meetings for September 24th

Due to inclement weather, Virginia has declared a state of emergency and consequently, all meetings tomorrow have been canceled. We will reschedule the primary program and associated potluck for October 8th. Please reach out to your ministering persons as well to ensure that they know in the case they're not on the email distribution list or see this on Facebook. A reminder that next week is general conference weekend--stay safe everyone!
