I’ve had a few people ask how this page came to be and how I learned about cake. Swipe to the last picture to see my first attempt at a stacked cake lol I have improved lots. But in that moment I was so dang proud of that cake. I grew up loving watching cake boss and always saying I could never do that. In 2019 a few days after graduating nursing school I suffered a brain injury. I had to do a lot of rehab and brain rest. I couldn’t watch tv, be in public, or listen to music. So I carved pumpkins (yes we had about 30 that year) and I learned from how to make cakes. I’d spent hours reading her posts and would make one of her cakes every few days. I couldn’t hardly comprehend a recipe or hold a spatula still because of my shaking to begin but cake by cake my fine motor skills improved as well as my memory. In the darkest time of my life I found something that gave me purpose and that showed improvement in my recovery. Bless my families hearts for supplying me endless amounts of eggs and butter and helping me in the kitchen. This page and my love for cake is bigger than cake. It’s part of a journey I never expected to take in life but one I thank god for everyday. Even in the absolute worst of times he provides tender mercies and blessings. Now I am a newlywed married to the greatest man who test tastes all my creations and a nurse who uses cake as an outlet to survive these crazy times. ❤️
