Today, we pause to remember September 11, 2001. A day that forever changed our country and countless lives around the world.
We honor those who were lost at the Twin Towers, the Pentagon, and aboard Flight 93. We remember the innocent people who never made it home, the families who were left with an unimaginable absence, and the survivors who continue to carry the memories of that day.
We honor the firefighters, police officers, paramedics, dispatchers, military personnel, and ordinary citizens who ran toward danger to help others. We also remember the first responders who later became ill from their work at Ground Zero, as well as all those who served in the years that followed, many of whom sacrificed their health, their peace, and their lives in pursuit of justice and the protection of others.
May we never forget the fallen, the heroes, the grieving families, our veterans, or the many lives forever affected by the events and aftermath of September 11. May we continue to honor them not only through remembrance, but through compassion, courage, unity, and kindness toward one another.
We remember. We honor. We will never forget. πΊπΈ
