Something new is taking shape at Wandering Hearth:
Crispy Rosemary Sourdough Focaccia. ๐ŸคŽ

I wanted a focaccia with a golden, crunchy olive-oil bottom and a light, airy centerโ€”thin enough to make an incredible sandwich without overwhelming everything inside. This one turned out exactly as I imagined, finished with rosemary and flaky salt.

A New York-style chopped Italian grinder is already planned for it. And coming soon: a closer look at another recent experiment, Blueberry Lemon Dream. ๐Ÿ‹๐Ÿซ

Todayโ€™s basket holds mint, lavender, marigolds, and dried red peppers gathered for the chickens, right alongside the eggs they give us in return.

Most of our eggs go to work with Richard, where theyโ€™ve quietly found regular customers. Each carton has a Wandering Hearth sticker and QR code, so some of you may have found this page through the eggs before ever finding the bread.

The Arizona heat has the girls laying only about six or seven eggs a day right now, so there arenโ€™t many extras. But theyโ€™re still part of the Wandering Hearth story.

Forestville, thank you. ๐Ÿฅน๐Ÿž

Yesterday was my last bread day at the Forestville Farmers Market before I head back to Arizona on the 11th, and Iโ€™m still feeling so grateful.

I sold out by 3 PM, and so many of you came because you saw specific loaves here on the local page and came looking for them. That meant more to me than you know.

Wandering Hearth started with the idea of carrying home wherever we bake, and Forestville continues to make that feel very real every time I come back.

Iโ€™ll still be at the next market to sit with everyone and enjoy the day, just not baking this time. I want to spend my last week here soaking up New York, not covered in flour the whole time. โค๏ธ

This is not goodbye for long. Iโ€™ll be back next summer, and when I am, Iโ€™ll be bringing the bread with me.

The hearth has been a little quiet this week while Iโ€™ve been under the weather, but beautiful bread is still happening behind the scenes. ๐ŸคŽ

This jalapeรฑo cheddar pepperoni loaf came out just about perfect โ€” high hydration, soft and springy, with those savory inclusions spread all through the crumb.

Sheโ€™s not part of the current New York lineup, but sheโ€™s still very much a Wandering Hearth favorite and deserved her moment.

Fresh bread is out at the Crop Stop today!

I just stocked a fresh little lineup of Wandering Hearth loaves, and theyโ€™re ready for anyone wanting something special for the weekend table, dinner tonight, or a cozy slice tomorrow morning.

Todayโ€™s lineup:

Salted Double Chocolate Espresso โ€” rich cocoa, espresso, and a touch of sea salt. A coffee-kissed breakfast treat, but honestly just as good as dessert.

Salted Parmesan Rosemary โ€” savory, fragrant, and crusty, with Parmesan, rosemary, and sea salt baked into a beautiful artisan loaf.

Classic Sandwich Style โ€” soft enough for sandwiches, sturdy enough for toast, and perfect for everyday slicing.

Everything Cheddar โ€” sharp cheddar tucked inside with that everything-seasoning crust everyone keeps loving.

Everything is first come, first served at the Crop Stop.

Wandering Hearthโ€™s New York menu is getting a little seasonal refresh while Iโ€™m here in Forestville.
Because I bake between different places, my menu changes with where I am โ€” different states, different kitchens, different local rules, and different ingredients that make sense for the season.
For the rest of my New York stay, Iโ€™ll be keeping things simple and focusing on New York-friendly sourdough options:
