You brag about
your silent keyboards,
wrist support,
and “ergonomic setup.” 😌

Meanwhile…

our mothers were out there
typing lightning-fast
on machines built like military equipment.

Every sentence sounded
like a construction project.

CLACK.
CLACK.
DING.

No autocorrect.
No backspace.
No “undo.”

Just pressure, precision,
and fingers strong enough
to file taxes, raise children,
cook dinner,
and still fix your attitude before bedtime. ☕

Those women didn’t need productivity videos.

They WERE productivity.

Typing ninety words a minute
while balancing real life
with zero complaints
and somehow still answering,
“Mom?”
from three rooms away.

Honestly…

modern stress could never survive
a 1950s office.

One paper jam
and somebody’s grandmother
would solve it with pure rage
and a bobby pin.

And let’s be honest…

those typewriters weren’t “user friendly.”

They were basically small metal gym equipment
disguised as office supplies. 😭

You didn’t gently press keys.

You FOUGHT the alphabet.

Every document looked earned.

Every paragraph carried upper-body strength.

That generation was different.

Not softer.
Not louder.

Just built with a kind of patience
and toughness
that didn’t need to announce itself online.

And somehow…

between the noise,
the hard work,
and the nonstop responsibilities…

they still found time
to keep the whole family together.

That’s the part people forget. ✨
