🌅 Sunset Market — A Night I Won’t Forget

A few weeks ago, Shy Bakes had the opportunity to be part of the Sunset Market, and while the night definitely didn’t go as planned… it’s one I’ll remember for a long time. 🤍

Set-up was absolutely wonderful. The weather was beautiful, everything was coming together, and I was so excited to see what the evening would bring.

Then 7:00 PM hit — the official start of the market — and the weather changed FAST. 🌩️

Within the first 10 minutes, we found ourselves right in the middle of a thunderstorm. The wind and rain came in so quickly that we were genuinely worried about losing everything. My tent was fighting for its life, and for a few minutes, it was all hands on deck. 😂

I am SO incredibly thankful for my family who was there with me that night. They jumped in without hesitation to help hold down the tent, protect what we could, and help me get through what could have been a complete disaster. ❤️

And even though the market itself was cut short, there was still a little bit of good that came from all those desserts I had prepared.

My mom took the remaining treats with her to work at the hospital, and the staff was able to enjoy lots of desserts during their lunch break. 🥰🍰

So while the Sunset Market may not have gone the way I imagined, I’m choosing to look at the good:

✨ A beautiful start
✨ Family who showed up when I needed them
✨ Customers who supported Shy Bakes before the storm
✨ And a whole lot of hospital staff who got to enjoy some sweet treats ❤️

Sometimes small businesses don’t get the picture-perfect market story. Sometimes it’s holding down your tent in a thunderstorm and trying not to watch your hard work blow away. 😂

But that’s part of the journey, too.

Thank you to everyone who supported Shy Bakes that night — and especially to my family. I couldn’t do this without you. 🤍

This Toy Story-inspired cake was SO much fun to create! 💙💛❤️

From the bright blue sky and fluffy clouds ☁️ to the bold red details and the golden sheriff star ⭐️, this cake was packed with little touches inspired by one of the most loved childhood classics!

I especially loved bringing the Woody-inspired colors and details together while keeping the design completely edible and unique. 🎂✨
