This place played such an important role in the American Revolution, victory would not have been possible without it!

Dear Friends,

Construction began at the Fishkill Supply Depot last Tuesday and we are using every legal tool at our disposal to stop further damage to this sacred historic site.

The developer is currently operating in direct violation of key approvals:

1. No Archaeological Oversight: NYSHPO required on-site monitoring during excavation. The developer has ignored this, putting rare artifacts, cultural resources, and human remains at immediate risk.

2. Missing State Permit: The developer lacks a required NYSDOT permit—an explicit condition of the original site plan that local officials failed to enforce.

We have officially petitioned the Town of Fishkill for an immediate Stop-Work Order.

How did we get here? Last year, local officials signed-off on the site plan despite the missing permit and missing archaeological plans. We moved to challenge it in court, but town delays in fulfilling our FOIL requests prevented us from receiving documents before the 30-day legal deadline. That bureaucratic failure allowed the developer to secure a building permit and begin clearing ground.

We cannot let the destruction continue.

George Washington ordered this cheese quite often through the mid 18th century, and to have folks taste a traditionally made cheese such as this is a rare opportunity. We'll have it this weekend George Washington’s Mount Vernon Colonial Market and Fair on the General's Plate!

We haven't had time to process or post about the once in a lifetime event last weekend (we will soon) but we are already cooking for a special dinner tonight! Don't forget we are also set up to bake in our oven this Saturday night 6-930pm and Sunday 12-4pm for the 250th anniversary of the Virginia Resolves!
