I bake by appointment only and generally your order will be ready in the afternoons M-F. My name is Karen. I've been baking sourdough for over 14 years with the same starter I got directly from San Francisco in 2008. I am a stay at home mom and bake out of my home as a hobby. I started selling bread in 2018 to friends and neighbors once others tasted my handmade bread. Because I make each loaf ind
ividually, every loaf is made to order and can be somewhat customized to your desires. Do you have loaves ready to pick up every day? I do everything by custom order, so, no, I do not have loaves ready to pick up. I make a limited number of loaves per week, so I will need to schedule your loaf. Please allow a minimum of 3 days notice for orders. I may be able to get it done sooner, but I cannot guarantee it especially if I am booked with other orders. When you want to order, we will work together to figure out the best day for your schedule and mine. Where are you located? I am in the town of Sullivan, WI. When you place an order, I will give you the address for pick-up. When and where is pick up? Pick up is in the town of Sullivan, usually at or after 4pm M-F. Occasionally I can arrange a Saturday pick up if my family's schedule allows. I do not bake or do pick ups on Sundays because that is our family’s day of worship and rest. How can I place an order? Simply send me a message or email me at [email protected] to order. Do you deliver or do meet-ups? I am not able to deliver or do meet-ups. How can I order cinnamon rolls? At the current time, I am unable to make my coveted cinnamon rolls! I'm sorry for the inconvenience for those of you that have bought and love my rolls. Why is your name Third Day Bakery? I named our bakery Third Day Bakery for a few reasons. First and foremost is because we believe in Jesus Christ who died for our sins and was raised from the dead on the 3rd Day! Secondly, God created plants on the 3rd day of creation, including wheat and other grains. Thirdly, it takes about 3 days to culture, form, and bake a sourdough loaf, so your loaf is ready on the 3rd day. Lastly, we're an adoptive family, and our daughter was born on the 3rd day after we were chosen by her gift family to adopt her. We love talking adoption and telling our story of God's goodness to us through both natural birth and adoption. Do you make gluten free baked goods? I currently do not sell any gluten free options. However, the long fermentation process of sourdough aids in digestion and tolerance of gluten. There are some studies showing that people who are mildly or moderately gluten intolerant can in fact tolerate sourdough baked goods. In light of this, I do have customers who can’t eat commercial or traditional yeast breads who love my bread. However, please do your own research and check with your healthcare professionals if you have known gluten intolerances or allergies before consuming wheat products.
