Birthday cake recap which I never posted! Layers of vanilla sponge, plum and berry preserves, vanilla custard, puff pastry finished with a chocolate ganache. Recipe by Audrey Audrey Leonard - I’ve had this recipe saved for so long now! And I’m SO happy I made it this year, it was perfect! 👌I LOVE fruit-forward desserts and cakes, and this one checked all the boxes! 😍

I started making my own birthday cakes a couple of years ago and I love this little tradition. I know it’s a little uncommon but I truly see this as showing myself some love. I bake for so many people, their favorite flavors and their requests that I never get a chance to bake for myself. This tradition gets me excited every year as I start planning and looking for recipes I’ve saved over the months. Taking the time out to prep and bake is grounding in some ways and I actually enjoy it. It reminds me why I started baking in the first place. 🤍

Taking some time off for summer since the kiddos are home and I’m basically their uber driver at the moment. No complaints though because you know what they say- the days are long, but the years are short. Yup, soaking it all in. Hope everyone is having a great summer. 🤍

A little recap of the Shaam ki Chai pop-up that I hosted at home. ☕️ The two hours just flew by and I realised much later that I barely took pictures. In fact, most of the time I didn’t even know where my phone was! I’ll take that as a sign of an evening well-spent. 😅

It was truly the kind of event that I had envisioned - casual and intimate with no closed circles or huddles, just everyone mingling and interacting with one another.

A week-long baking marathon where things went wrong at the very the last minute - swipe to see the menu card that printed off-center.🤦🏽‍♀️ Slicing the Chocolate Dacquoise almost had me in tears since I couldn’t cut it neatly (meringue layers, of course it wouldn’t!) and I was running on barely 4 hours of sleep the night before. But it ALL WORKED OUT and it was so worth it! As tired as I was after the event, I instantly started planing the next one! 😅 THANK YOU to everyone for showing up and supporting my little pop-up. Until the next one! 🤍
