After looking up the difference between a sales taxable transaction and a donation, I cannot receive money in exchange for my goods.

If someone wanted to just donate to me out of the kindness of their hearts because they love my hobby of baking, I can put up a donation can or I can give good samaritans a Venmo link.

But I repeat, I cannot take money in exchange for my breads. I love baking and would love to continue to share my love through baking, but I cannot accept money.

Well well well. I got turned in for not having a sales tax license. I will not be playing in that system. So from now on, if you’d like something from me, I’ll take donations. I’m not playing all of that for the little amount of bread that I bake. From my understanding I didn’t need a sales tax license with the cottage bakery laws.

So either donation route or I shut down.
