This hurts my heart. This is the 8th donut place we’ve seen close in the last few months.
We’ve felt the squeeze of these hardships. Increased cost, supply chain issues, decreased sales and increased minimum wage…we’re pulled so many ways but small businesses can only last so long.
We give it our all. We create new and exciting combinations. We held on to freakshakes for as long as possible, made a homemade spinning wheel to choose your Hogwarts house, we changed hours to accommodate your requests and then had to change again because of hours of operation and not a single soul to be seen. We turned a donut case into a made fresh initiative to make sure you have fresh donuts and that we don’t have to throw out dozens a day.
We moved - we adapt - we do everything in our power but as a small business sometimes nothing we do is enough.
We know we can’t beat the Amish donuts. We know we have Ashbys and Sherman ice cream that can be found elsewhere, but we keep our cost as low as we can and we give it our all. The whole team does.
I know you all hear it a lot but please, support small businesses. Support local. I know funds can be tight and an $8 little Caesars pizza is cheaper than our $10 Thursday special at My Freakin Pizza. Or convenience with a concrete mixer through a drive thru instead of parking and walking in to get one of ours. If you can’t buy we understand - but share, share our posts, share your friends business’s, promote local and buy from those around you. Don’t be the people in the comments saying how much they loved this place or reminisce the one time they visited out of 6 years.
We’re thankful for all of you. And like every small business we just hope we can make it through the winter and to see another year. ❤️
🍩A Heartfelt Goodbye & Thank You ❤️
As we officially close the doors to our small business and this memorable chapter of our lives, we want to take a moment to thank each and every one of you who has supported us on this 6.5 year journey.
The outpouring of love, tears, kind words, and overwhelming support during our final days was more than we ever imagined. You showed up, shared memories, photos, and reminded us exactly why we started Industrial Donut in the first place — community. Your kindness will never be forgotten!
While it’s never easy to say goodbye, we’re walking away with full hearts and endless gratitude. Thank you for being part of our story. It’s been an incredible ride, and we’re so lucky to have had you along for it.
❤️To our amazing team- thank you for being our donut family and sticking it out with us in good times and bad. We will always be connected in a sweet way.
With all the donut love,
