Our culinary world has lost a LEGEND 🇮🇹

Roberto 'Loli' Linguanotto, the Italian pastry chef credited with creating tiramisu, has died at the age of 81. After battling a prolonged illness, he passed away a few days ago. Roberto was working as a pastry chef at the esteemed restaurant Le Beccherie in Treviso, Italy, when he reportedly invented the famous dessert.

Various accounts exist about its creation, but one tale suggests he accidentally mixed mascarpone with sugar and eggs. Later, with the help of co-inventor Alba di Pillo-Campeol, wife of Le Beccherie's owner Ado Campeol, they added espresso-soaked ladyfingers.

Rest in peace to a culinary legend.🙏🇮🇹
