I was going to write this out yesterday but it has been pretty painful to imagine announcing this so quickly after we just began….Faux Pain will not be moving forward for this season at the Farmer’s Market. It breaks my heart having seen how excited everyone was, and the sheer outpouring of support you guys gave was incredible.
I won’t get too deeply into the why, but 99% of it is resourcing issues. Whether it be cost, distance, reliability, any of you who are gluten free know how hard it is to find actual gluten free flour, and sadly I’m seeing a lot of logistics issues that make me uncomfortable with serving to other Celiac folks. On top of this, the tariff situation (whether they’re on/off/on again) is causing a lot of market instability in buying from wholesalers. It’s not even just price, there are a lot of things not shipping on time or at all. It’s a mess and frankly it’s been a really bad time to start a business. That said, this isnt goodbye forever! Im hoping something will work out soon. I would love to find ways to keep our gf community connected!
I started this because I genuinely want celiac and GF folks in our area to have something good, safe, and convenient to eat.
