Sugar and Spice LKN started in 2012 with a family recipe for Cheese Rings (our version of southern cheese straws). Special orders are always welcome!

Custom baked items including cheese rings/straws, cookies, cupcakes, cakes, cake pops, chocolates and candies, decorated sugar cookies and logo cookies for any personal or business occasion. We make a variety of flavors of our versatile southern Cheese Ring including Mild Cheddar, Spicy Cheddar, Cheddar with Bacon, and can do any cheesy flavor requested. We also make shortbread flavors including K

ey Lime, Lemon, Chocolate, Pumpkin and other seasonal flavors. Cheese rings make a delicious snack anytime and are also a southern tradition at weddings, bridal and baby showers. They can be crumbed in soups or on a salad for a unique burst of flavor and go wonderful paired with a cocktail. Cake pops, custom cakes, pound cakes, banana pudding, custom sugar cookies, and other varieties of cookies are a few of our additional products and we have a large flavor assortment of hot cocoa bombs, tea bombs, cider bombs, and birthday bombs. We offer a variety of gluten free items and try to accommodate any special dietary and allergy request. You can find many of our products at our location at 509 East Statesville Ave and at Josh's Farmers and Stephen’s Country Store and Butcher Shop in Mooresville, NC. Sugar and Spice LKN Bakery closed in 2022 - but we moved to Statesville! We merged with The Daily Grind of Mooresville and became The Vanilla Bean Bakery and Coffee Shop. Please like our new page and we hope you will visit us at our new location at 127 W Broad Street, Statesville!

It’s going to be a cold weekend so Frosty has decided it is safe to visit us in Statesville! Come by our new store - The Vanilla Bean Bakery and Coffee Shop and visit this Saturday, Jan 14th, from 12-2pm. You can visit with Froaty and decorate a Snowman Cookie to eat or take home! (We will have edible markers so it’s super easy and will dry quickly!) This event is $5 per person and RSVPs are encouraged so we can have enough cookies! FUN for all ages!! Santa Claus is coming to Statesville this morning! If your little ones haven’t had a chance to visit or get a photo with him, come see Santa, Mrs. Claus and one of their Elves this morning at our new shop - The Vanilla Bean Bakery and Coffee Shop (127 W Broad Street, Statesville) today! They will be here 9-10am before heading back to the North Pole!

It’s almost time for the arrival of Santa’s helpers!! Many of the ”helpers” pop by our new location The Vanilla Bean Bakery and Coffee Shop to grab a “Magic Snowball” to give upon their arrival along with a note explaining how the hot cocoa bomb works. We can also help with any mischevious pranks (baking cookies, making pizza, personalized elf cookies, art projects for example) that your little helper may need assistance with! And follow up to see what our little guy, Max, gets into here in the store!

As excited as we were to celebrate tomorrow, we have decided to postpone the Grand Opening of our new venture, The Vanilla Bean Bakery and Coffee Shop in Statesville, until Tuesday, Oct. 4th. With the amount of rain expected and predicted power outages we feel it is the best decision to postpone for everyone’s safety. Stay safe and we hope to see you Tuesday!

We had a blast last night at the Statesville Art Crawl and loved meeting so many wonderful people, as well as seeing some of our Mooresville crew! And many thanks to my sister, Martha Brouwer, and my wonderful friend, Patti Dayton, for all their help organizing and decorating to get us ready in an afternoon! We hope to be opening Oct 1st!!

We have lots of changes going on with the company and will be posting updates over the next few days! One of my happiest announcements is that my son, Parker, is merging his coffee business with the bakery. We are opening in Statesville at our new location and under a new name, The Vanilla Bean Bakery and Coffee Shop. Please wish him a very Happy 27th Birthday today!

Oops! We scheduled this before we knew we were moving! 🤦‍♀️ Yes, we have closed our shop and are in the process of renovating with plans to re-open in Statesville Oct 1st. But The Daily Grind Coffee Shop is still here in Mooresville for a few more weeks before joining us. With blood supplies so low please consider donating tomorrow!
