After over 1,000 days on Lake St. Clair I was finally able to put a 7 Pounder in the boat. Even after a couple months I still can’t believe it happened. 7.23 and 22” long. I watched this fish eat my plug right next to the boat with only about 12” of line out. I really believe I wouldn’t have stuck it had I not swapped my treble hooks.

We’ve been grinding every day out there taking what we can get with all the wind and cold fronts this year. But I am taking the day off today, Jordy and I are going Bassin. Happy Father’s Day to all the great dads out there!

The Book is open for guide trips on Lake St. Clair, Detroit River, and St. Clair River for 2026. May and June are nearly full already. I still have days open for Supertanker Walleyes on the Detroit River in early April and Prespawn Smallmouth in mid-late April. July and August offer lots of smallmouth action during a beautiful Michigan Summer.
