🍫 The History Behind the Holiday
• The Origin: The holiday began in Cleveland, Ohio, in 1921 when a committee of 12 candy makers, led by philanthropist and candy executive Herbert Kingston, wanted to bring joy to those who were often forgotten.
• The First Celebration: To launch the holiday, they distributed over 20,000 boxes of candy to orphans, shut-ins, and the elderly across Cleveland.

💨 WEATHER WOES… CLOSED TODAY! 😩💜

Y’all, we HATE having to make these decisions, especially when we’re trying so hard to find our rhythm and get back to some normalcy! 🥹

But here’s the thing… baking enough goodies to fill our cases takes HOURS of preparation, not to mention the cost of ingredients, labor, and electricity. With high wind warnings hanging over us and the possibility of power outages, that’s a pretty BIG gamble for a little bakery like ours! 🧁💸

The last thing we want is to spend hours baking only to lose power, lose our products, or put anyone at risk.

So, as much as we hate to say it, Taste and See Bakery will be CLOSED today, Saturday, October 10th. 💜

We know our hours have been a little unpredictable lately, and believe us, nobody wants consistency more than WE DO! 😅 We’re doing our very best to navigate the things we can control while rolling with the things we can’t.

Thank you for continuing to show us grace, patience, and SO MUCH LOVE as we find our footing again! 🥰

Unseen Pass is officially launching their UTV adventure business, offering street-legal UTV rentals and GPS-guided experiences in Spruce Pine!

We’re excited to help spread the word and invite everyone to come out for their Launch Party & Ribbon Cutting next Friday, October 9th!

✂️ The ribbon cutting will take place at 4:00 PM, but don’t head home afterward — the celebration continues until 9:00 PM with food trucks, music, games, and prizes to be won!
