Had to capture my final wedding cake with those who inspired the name and the person who unconditionally supported me for those 7 years of business 🖤

This is officially the last cake I'll make as "Two Sons Cakery." Even though I closed this year, the bride had booked two years prior, and I wasn't about to leave her hanging. The wedding is a beautiful English garden theme, with a cake to match! She chose some of my favorite flavors, including champagne, cookies 'n cream, and red velvet cake 🍰

*ANNOUNCEMENT*

After 7+ years of making cakes, I have some bittersweet news. As of the end of this year, I will no longer be making cakes of any kind.

I did not come to this decision easily, but it is what's best for me and my family in this season of our lives. I have dedicated a lot of my time and attention to helping you lovely people celebrate special moments and achievements over the years. Now, it's my family's turn to get my attention, as I focus on our journey of homeschooling and making memories together.

I truly want to thank each and every one of you who has ever ordered from me. You helped my childhood dream come true. You continually trusted me with such important moments in your life, and I hope I never disappointed you. Thank you.

I will continue to teach at Ivy Tech for the foreseeable future, so if I choose to post content, it will be my students' creations and possibly a few of my own. I would love to host my own classes in the future, either in person or online. However, I plan to take at least 6 months "off" not thinking about anything cake related. I will be sure to post here if classes do happen.

Today's for the women.

Here's to the dreamers and self-made entrepreneurs following a dream. Here's to the strong, resilient ones who give it 110% no matter the challenges they face. The self aware girlies working to better themselves and put their mental health first. For those paving their own way and marching to the beat of their own drum.

It is a day to celebrate both the soft and tough sides of femininity. May we support one another in our different journeys and remember that it's about support, not competition.

Heidi + Sam

And that's a wrap on 2022! I couldn't have asked for a better way to end this year than to be able to serve this amazing couple.

The wedding date was originally set for October of next year. Life, however, had other plans...

Heidi reached out to me just weeks after securing her date informing me that Sam had been in very serious accident. After being moved out of ICU, they decided they wanted to marry as soon as they could. Thus moving up the date to December.

I just knew I had to make the new date work for these lovely people. While I enjoy the baking and creative side of making wedding cakes, I got into this business to serve others with my God given talent.

I was blessed to be a part of their special day, as God was truly watching over this couple and their love for one another. Wishing you both healing, love, and happiness for many years to come!
