Hey, friend! How is your summer going? If it’s anything like mine, you’ve been busy, while still trying to find a slower pace. The easy going, no hurry days are what I am after, but I’m just not there yet..

You may have heard (or saw the sign in the yard) that my family is moving. It is incredibly bittersweet. If you’ve ever been to a porch pickup, you know what a lovely neighborhood we are in and what a cute place we have here. You probably also noticed the highway in the backyard. Well, that highway will be making the back yard a literal construction zone in the next year or so. The state/DOT has officially purchased a portion our the back yard in the name of the overpass project set to begin 2027-2028. It is time to move on before winter and the looming start date.

We ARE staying in town, in Springville, just a few blocks from our place now. So, Leavened will still be around! Although, it may look a bit different now and in the future. I know I have loyal support and I know what kind of capacity I can and have handled. But I also know I don’t need to work so hard. And truthfully, I don’t want to work “hard” in the bakery. I want to serve, bless and be blessed all with a joyful heart. Can anyone relate?

Thank you, as always, for your love and for your interest in my bakery. There really is something about the art of sourdough baking and I love to share it with others. So with that, I’ll have these four, beautiful loaves up for grabs tomorrow morning! 2-Classic, 2-Italian Herbs & Cheese. First come, first serve. I’ll have them out at 6:00, bright and early.

I will not be at the Springville Farmer’s Market tonight. We have an eight-year-old with a birthday and a five-year-old with a preschool graduation today. We will be celebrating these milestones and all the good Lord has blessed us with. Have a nice night, everyone!

Oh my goodness.. the strawberries & cream, you guys! My mom couldn’t wait any longer and finally had a slice topped with butter.. so delicious. It’s been almost a year since offering this one the menu, so please enjoy! There is no sugar in this recipe except for the white chocolate chips. Can we consider this guilt-free snacking?!

In other news- I had two soft sandwich loaves get extra cuddly in the oven and caught them kissing. It’s the first time I’ve seen this and thought it was weirdly cute.. lol! The swirls were swirling in the cinnamon sugar loaves and the scones smelled scrumptious. Thanks everyone for a great week in the microbakery. I appreciate each one of you who support me and my family.
