Friends,
This message is a hard one for me to write, but one I know that I need to officially post. One year ago, I got a crazy idea of selling some of my sourdough bread. It started with 1 loaf, then 2, then 4 and quickly grew as I found ways to increase my production. It’s been a joy, many of you are weekly customers and I have felt such a delight in providing bread to your families!
My oven has been broken for the past 4 weeks and it has slowed me down enough to realize that I have been spread a little too thin. And though a good thing, baking weekly is taking away from the time I would like to invest in getting some more certification for my counseling career (which is my other, main job!). So, after much thought, prayer and wisdom from people close to me, I have decided to put baking on pause for the time being.
A quote given to me recently reads, “don’t give up what is uniquely you, for something that someone else can do.” And truthfully, what’s uniquely me and my passion, is being a counselor, helping the hurting and wading through the messiness of life with a person.
I love baking bread and have loved welcoming you onto the porch for the last year. But it’s time for me to refocus and simplify a bit to be present with family and chase some other goals.
If you have subscribed to texts and emails, you’ll get notified if I feel I have capacity for bread orders, but in the meantime, we have some wonderful bread in our area! Orchard Hill Breadworks, Kidding Around Farm and Slow Culture Life, LLC! Check them out! Who knows, you may even enjoy them more than mine 😉
Again, thank you so much for your support and excitement about my bread! I have LOVED serving you in this way & hope to do some bread drops here and there, just not as consistently as before.
With gratitude,
Aly 🥖✨
