The Busy Mama Bakes had a chance to support the Jayden’s journey team at the MDA Minnesota/Dakotas mda walk this past Saturday. My cousin Jayden has Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, so when my aunt asked if I could do cupcakes for the team members, I was so excited to help! Here are how they turned out! It was a HOT day, but so so much fun, with yummy treats to end the day 💕

Some of these kinda look like a 6 year old did them… but some of them turned out cute. I like a good cookie to icing ratio, and these did not disappoint! I definitely learned not to use butter spread(but use stick butter all the time) because the butter I used today changed the batter dramatically and certainly complicated things, but they still taste yummy. These were just a for fun/practice batch to celebrate along with my friends and family during PRIDE. Overall, they are good but I am definitely still a noob and need to keep practicing! 😂😬😂😬 Amber Eckart

For a first(and second and third) try of my hand at royal icing, these fluffy sugar cookies turned out AMAZING! These were a request of a great friend for a woman truly deserving something sweet for her surprise birthday party. Tons of people had feedback about how fluffy the cookies were, and that the icing “actually tasted good”! Which was a big improvement from my first practice round, which tasted way too much like powdered sugar and wasn’t the ideal consistency for piping. Im still new to all this, but I am already learning lots of new stuff to make things the best I can.

What is your favorite thing to bake(or cook)?
