Spreckels Bakery is taking this week off.

Our daughter is heading off to college and we are soaking up every single moment of family time we can before she goes. If you know, you know. 🥹

To say this season feels big would be an understatement. It feels enormous. And beautiful. And a little bittersweet. And we are choosing to be completely present for every minute of it.

The bakery will be back. The sourdough will be worth the wait. Stay tuned for the next drop announcement coming soon. 🍞🌿

Porch pickup day is honestly my favorite part of the whole week. Here’s why…

Yesterday was one of those days that reminded me exactly why I started Spreckels Bakery.

I got to stand in front of a rack full of orders I made from scratch and hand them off one by one to the most incredible people.

I met two brand new faces — a woman and her niece visiting Spreckels Bakery for the very first time. Something tells me they won’t be strangers for long. Welcome to the family. 🧡

I met someone for the first time in real life and instantly felt like I’d known her forever. You know those people? She’s one of them.

I dropped off a little treat to Felicia, security worker my family has known for a long time. Because sometimes showing up looks like a surprise delivery just to say we see you.

And this week’s Giving Loaf? It went to a postpartum mama who just welcomed her second baby and needed a helping hand with dinner. That one hit different. That’s exactly what the Giving Loaf is for.

This community. These people. This is everything. 🫶

Thank you for making Spreckels Bakery so much more than a bakery. 🥹
