Guess who helped The Story Bakehouse get to Skyfest 2026? (Spoiler: It’s not who you think.)
I’ll tell you the story.
Just a little while back, I worked alongside a guy named Alex at a company that was failing. Not the fun kind of failing; the kind where everyone starts pointing fingers, morale craters, and you’re just trying to survive the week.
Alex? He took the heat. People blamed him for things that weren’t his fault. Instead of fighting back, he watched. He learned. And then when everyone else was busy hating he saw a different way to serve.
He started Bearcat Heating and Cooling from scratch. Not with a bang, but with a quiet decision: I’m going to build something that actually helps people and serve the ones who are going to need it when this company fails.
And he did. He even saved a couple of jobs in the process (including people who’d doubted him).
Fast forward to now. I’m just opening The Story Bakehouse, and we’re trying to make it to Skyfest 2026—a huge vision and goal for us.
Booths, samples, stories, the whole thing. But like most good dreams, it came with a price tag.
Then Alex showed up. Again.
He didn’t just cheer from the sidelines. He sponsored our booth. Partnered with us. Believed in us when he had zero obligation to.
So here’s the truth I want to leave with you:
We’re all human. We all mess up. We all get blamed for things that aren’t our fault.
But we’re also here to serve each other.
Alex is proof. Bearcat Heating and Air is proof. And at Skyfest 2026?
You’ll find us at The Story Bakehouse booth standing proudly because the one guy with a broken past and a brand-new company chose to risk failure because truth matters.
