It was a week of custom cakes, and I think we absolutely nailed every single one.

And while we’re here, a little plea from your local cake maker: please think twice before sending your local creators an AI-generated inspiration photo.

I know the intention is good—you’re trying to show us what you love and help us bring your vision to life. But AI images can make our job so much harder. We want to make your cake dreams come true, but we can’t always take something that was computer-generated and recreate it with human hands. The physics, the details, the impossible little flourishes… sometimes they simply don’t exist in the real world.

Instead, send us photos of real cakes, colors, textures, flowers, patterns, outfits, artwork—anything that captures the feeling you’re after. Give us the creative direction, and then let us do what we do best: turn your idea into something real.

Because this one ? It was made with butter, sugar, flour, a whole lot of patience, and the human hands of our new decorator adam🤟🏻.

And I’m pretty proud of it.

Bakes by Izzy started as a dream in my kitchen and has grown into something bigger than I ever imagined. As a mom and small business owner, its my goal to create something that brings joy to our community, creates special moments for families, and support my own family along the way.

Being a small business owner isn’t always easy, but it’s a dream worth showing up for every day. So excited to be applying for the High Five Grant™ for Moms and grateful for the opportunity to be part of a community supporting mom-owned businesses!
