It’s been difficult to find motivation for much these days, but every so often I get ambitious enough to dive into an all-day meal.
I picked up a pork roast on special a few weeks ago, and it’s probably been about 20 years since I’ve made chile verde completely from scratch. Sure, I could have just dumped the roast and a can of green sauce in the crock pot and just hit “start,” but nah…I wanted to do it right.
I stared the morning roasting peppers and tomatillos, which were then combined with onion, garlic, and cilantro into a beautiful salsa while the pork slow cooked for several hours.
Everything came together beautifully and was served over some air fried flautas with homemade pinto beans and a side of rice.
It was a perfect meal and just what I needed to temporarily disconnect from the outside world.

They’ve definitely earned their name: little squares of gooey, magical goodness that I only make a couple times a year because they’re just so delicious I could eat an entire batch by myself!

I love how versatile they are. You really can make them your own with whatever toppings you’re in the mood for!
This year, I made mine with a Ritz cracker crust (game changer…highly recommend), then topped with a bunch of shredded coconut, extra dark chocolate chips, mini butterscotch chips, pretzels, chopped peanuts and pecans, and some homemade toffee bits.
Who else loves them as much as I do? What’s your favorite topping combo?

Nothing screams Easter quite like a , right?
It’s a massive undertaking, but it was a fun family project!
Pecan pie, banana pudding cheesecake, and a banana cake, covered in a vanilla ermine frosting.
I hope approves!!

I don’t make just sweets, and is the best meal of the day.

Friday: over easy egg, crispy prosciutto, everything bagel season (which really does go well on pretty much everything), and a sprinkle of peperoncino verde calabrese piccante…spicy Calabrian green chili flakes. I promise a little sprinkle of all you need!

My mom still hates it when I make my own , but I like to use it and an opportunity to try out a new technique or baking/decorating device, and I’ve been dying for a chance to use my new .
Y’all, this thing is amazeballs and I’m so excited to see what else I’m gonna be able to do with it. Help me put it to good use and let me make your next cake!
This cake is a vanilla funfetti, with a hazelnut soak, chocolate buttercream filling, and Guittard couverture white chocolate ganache.

Wow! What an amazing opportunity to be a vendor at Sugar High Fest 2023.

This was by far, the biggest thing I’ve ever done and I have to admit, I almost pulled out of it soooo many times. I was a teeny, tiny guppy in shark infested water. I’m exhausted, and my whole body hurts, but I had so much fun connecting with fellow sweets producers and sugar lovers!

I couldn’t have pulled this off without the help of a few very special people. I want to give a huge thanks to all my family and friends who came to the event and everyone who stopped by my booth. I know you had many, many delicious treats to choose from. As a very small, single person operation, every visitor honestly meant the world to me!

Special shout out to my new friends at , , , and . Y’all were great booth neighbors and made the day even more fun!
Also a huge thanks to .high.events for organizing such a wonderful event! I hope to get invited back next year!

you really want a sammich, but you don’t have bread and you don’t want to turn the oven on because it’s a million degrees outside, so you pull out the bread machine at 8pm and make a loaf of honey and olive oil white bread.

Watching .high.events inspired me to make some cookies of my own this week.
While I don’t know if I’d pit myself against some of the Utah cookie powerhouses, having FIVE different people say “this is the best peanut butter cookie I’ve ever had” and “way better than is a pretty great feeling!

I’m never gonna say no to making treats for some , especially cookie-inspired ones!
inspired chocolate cupcake with a salted caramel buttercream and chocolate ganache drizzle.
Not gonna lie, it’s probably the best buttercream I’ve ever made!
