I've always leaned a little fancy.
I like pretty packaging. Good chocolate. Nice restaurants. Dressing up when I probably don't need to. And I firmly believe that an ordinary Tuesday is reason enough to eat something really, really good.
So one of my favorite Dolly Parton lines has always felt particularly appropriate:
"It's hard to be a diamond in a rhinestone world."
With Dolly's passing this week, I've been thinking about that line again — and about how much of myself has quietly made its way into Sweet Stacks.
I'm Kelly, the baker, owner, recipe tester, package picker, label maker, website tinkerer and chronic overthinker behind Sweet Stacks.
Before cookies, I spent years in product management. I eventually left the corporate world because I wanted to build something of my own. Turns out, I never really stopped being a product person. Now I just obsess over chocolate-to-dough ratios instead.
I'm incredibly particular. I will test a cookie over and over because something about it isn't quite right. I've abandoned perfectly good recipes because "perfectly good" wasn't good enough. And I've learned to make flavors that aren't necessarily *my* favorites because this business isn't about making cookies for me. It's about making cookies that you can't wait to eat again.
I think the best way to describe Sweet Stacks — and probably me — is a little fancy, but never fussy.
I want a box of cookies to feel special without requiring a special occasion. Gourmet without being intimidating. Beautiful without taking itself too seriously.
Because sometimes you don't need a reason for the good chocolate, the pretty box or the really great cookie.
Sometimes Tuesday is enough.
