Aye Pets!
Hope you all are enjoying this last bit of summer, it's been such beautiful weather. I've been receiving a lot of messages asking what's going on and when we're going to re-open. I didn't want to worry anyone, and it's not a big deal, but I'm injured and can't stand for long periods of time. It's getting better and I've been told another 6 to 8 weeks and I'll be back to normal. We hope to re-open in late October, even if it it's limited hours to begin with. We miss you all so much and I'm going stir crazy not being able to bake ( I did make some posset today for the family!) and I can't wait to get back into the kitchen. Thank you all for your kind wishes, prayers and thoughts-our customers are the sweetest!

Thanks so much for coming down and celebrating the Somersworth Feast Around the World! It was great fun.
A sad goodbye to the Talented Taleya and Legendary Liz! We wish them all the best in their future endeavors and we'll miss them terribly. And although may not have seen him- Magnificent Matt who kept the dishes clean!
A reminder that the bakery will be closed while we take a much needed vacation. Thank you all for a wonderful summer!

Hoping to see you this weekend at the Feast Around the World festival! A note to let you all know that we'll be closing down this Saturday the 8th for a much needed vacation for the next couple of months so be sure to come in for any last minute goodies before we close down.

Hope you're enjoying this wonderful weather. The question we are asked the most is "where are you?" In helping you find us I've included a picture of the building. We now have some beautiful flowers, dog-friendly outdoor seating and a British flag to beckon you in. There's plenty of parking to the right in a parking lot or you can usually park on the side. Treat yourself after running errands at the Post Office or City Hall!

Aye Pets!
Olivia and I share so many happy memories of baking together since she had to use a step stool to reach the counter. So many happy family times are tied to food- warm chocolate chips cookies fresh from the oven when we got home from school, piles of whoopie pies at family gatherings, sausage rolls with beans after Sunday service, and waking up to the smell of Shnecken Buns baking in the oven at Grammy's. I found Grammy's Shnecken Bun recipe in an old recipe box today and asked our talented bread maker if she could make them and she did! The smell of cinnamon, raisins and nuts brought me back to the last time Grammy made these in 1982.
