To my wonderful Bread of Life Farmstand family,
After a lot of prayer and reflection, I've decided to take the month of August away from baking.
Over the past month, I've found myself bringing home more leftovers than I'd like, and I've become physically and mentally exhausted trying to keep up with baking, running the stand, raising my family, and everything else life brings. As much as I love sharing fresh, homemade food with all of you, I also have to be realistic about the business side of things.
With the rising cost of quality ingredients and supplies, the amount of unsold products and waste has become detrimental to such a small business. It breaks my heart to see so much time, effort, and food go to waste, and I know I need to take a step back before continuing down a path that isn't sustainable.
I truly believe that sometimes God calls us to be still and listen, and I feel like this is one of those seasons. I'm taking August to rest, pray, and reevaluate what the future of Bread of Life Farmstand looks like. I don't know exactly what that will mean yet, but I'm trusting that God will guide my next steps.
While I won't be baking during August, the farmstand won't be completely closed. I'll continue to keep the shed stocked with items such as my handcrafted tallow lotions, fresh flowers, and other seasonal garden products as they're available. I hope you'll still stop by and support those offerings.
If you have a gift certificate or coupon, please don't worry. You're more than welcome to reach out to me during this time, and I'd be happy to make your special request so you can still redeem it.
This isn't necessarily goodbye, it's simply a pause while I seek God's direction.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you to everyone who has supported this little dream by stopping at the stand, placing an order, sharing a post, or offering words of encouragement. Every loaf purchased, every kind comment, and every recommendation has meant more than you know.
I would appreciate your prayers for wisdom and discernment as I navigate this next season. Whatever the future holds, I'm grateful for each and every one of you.
With love,
Bread of Life Farmstand
