The Garden House, Soddy-Daisy, TN (2026)

09/30/2026

🎪If you’re looking for a fun way to fuel up for Halloween night please consider joining us out at Chester Frost for games and prizes!

🎟️A $10 donation per child will give your family access to a variety of classic carnival games like Ring Toss, Can Toss and more. Each game gets your prize tickets that you can then trade in at the prize booth for various sweet treats and other Halloween themed goodies.

🎯Additionally, each kid is going to get a scavenger hunt map to take around the carnival area and can expect a prize for figuring out each clue.

🌭 Various carnival themed snacks like hotdogs and popcorn are going to be available to all volunteers and attendees.

🧙 You can also hop on over to the Witch’s Brew to get yourself some festive refreshments.

🎃 A limited amount of plaster pumpkins will be available for y’all to paint and take home.

Reach out if you have any questions like how to donate to our cause or how to volunteer. All of our treats and tricks for the evening have been graciously donated by a few loving neighbors, so all of the ticket proceeds will go towards continuing to fund our monthly community potlucks and other outreach programs for the community.

The Garden House is a local nonprofit based in Soddy Daisy, TN that is committed to finding sustainable ways to bring resources to our neighbors in need. After working in a variety of social work settings it became apparent to me very quickly just how many of the helpful resources are in areas my neighbors struggle to access. We aim to fix that by building an eatery that would be able to feed anyone regardless of financial or dietary restrictions right here in town. Unfortunately, in order to build this we need funding, which is why we have come to you to humbly request alms.

We are starting to slowly bring in regular donation dollars and hope to restart our monthly newsletter, which will include a segment regarding funding to show you all where your dollars are going. Essentially, when you make a donation to us you are helping fund:

- Continued Monthly Potlucks including a Free Pantry and Closet
- Blessing Bags (this program has been on pause but we are currently seeking spaces to leave these bags for those in need - expect to find them at a local laundry mat very soon.)
- Building a “pay what you can” eatery.

In addition to this, we are looking for volunteers who would be interested in being part of a Mutual Aid network. This network would help facilitate meal trains and other assistance that folks might need. For example, maybe you need an oil change but can only afford the oil and not the labor. I’ll happily help a neighbor in need if I have the free time to schedule it in, and I’m looking for others willing to do the same.

So, if any of this interests you at all please reach out! Consider being the kind of good you’d like to see more of in this world. It’s hard. But don’t get it twisted by thinking you have to be a social butterfly. I often liken myself to the Grinch because dealing with people can be…ugh, BUT you can still show small acts of kindness without being overly involved. Promise. So here’s to hoping that all the helpful hermits come out of their shell to help their fellow man!

Happy Friday! It's time to unwind but before you unplug for the weekend we would like to remind you of a few places you can find us in the coming months!

We are hosting our first Carnival this year. Complete with carnival snacks, games, and fun prizes. Come out and start your Halloween night off right by getting into the spirit with us. Tickets can be purchased via the QR code below. All proceeds help us continue our free community potlucks where we ask our neighbors to come together and share their favorite dishes.

We have our eyes on a special space for our Christmas Community Potluck, but we could use your help to make that come to life. So, help us treat our neighbors to a worry-free holiday meal by donating to our nonprofit's cause through Zeffy. The link can be find in our bio. Hey y'all! It's time for our weekly request for alms.

We are a local nonprofit based in Soddy Daisy, TN that is seeking to build a "pay what you can" style eatery that would not only be dedicated to making sure all of our neighbors are fed, but also that our neighbors with food sensitivities are also heard. We are humbly asking you guys to help us get closer to that goal through financial contributions if you are able.

That’s our long-term goal, but on the more present side your donation can help us continue hosting monthly potlucks for the community. At these events we also provide clothing, pantry items, and various activities that are all completely free to anyone who can get to whatever community center we may be hosting from.

And if you can’t donate you CAN help via sharing our info with people you know. Every little bit of support goes a long way. Thanks so much!
