School may be out, but church kitchens everywhere are officially entering VBS season.

This Churchlady’s been in the kitchen working on cookies for the folks spending their week wrangling kids, pouring Kool-Aid, leading Bible songs, and coming home covered in glitter by 8 PM.

These caramel pretzel cookies will be handed out as a little ‘thank you, Lord bless you, and go put your feet up’ for some hardworking VBS volunteers down at the First Baptist Church❤️

NEW at the fellowship table: Gluten-Free Brownie Bites with warm caramel sauce. 💕

Now before somebody turns their nose up at the words “gluten free,” let the Churchlady testify for a minute…

These brownies are rich, fudgy, chocolatey, and just as sinful as the regular ones. They have crackly tops, gooey centers, and a buttery caramel sauce that’ll have folks scraping the cup clean and declaring it oughta be illegal in 3 counties.

No dry little cardboard brownies over here, honey. We may offer gluten free, but we still believe in flavor ❤️

UPDATE: the Rutledge County Fair has been rescheduled due to rain.

The Churchlady is headed to the Rutledge Country Fair this Saturday from 10–3 with a table full of fellowship favorites. 💕

The Banana Pudding Cookie will be there, the Holy Chip is making another appearance, and that Peach Cobbler Cinnamon Roll Cookie is still out here causing a little commotion.

Come hungry, come early, and don’t be the one telling your family, “They were sold out when I got there.”

Some families pass down jewelry.
Around here, we passed down cake recipes. 🤎

Sister Ethel’s Celebration Cake is named after my grandmother, who made this cake for birthdays, holidays, graduations, and every special occasion worth gathering for.

Thin layers of tender vanilla cake stacked with old-fashioned boiled chocolate icing. It’s the kind of cake that quietly disappears one slice at a time while everybody stands around the kitchen talking.

This one means a whole lot to me, and I’m mighty proud to share it with y’all. Come find me tomorrow at Good Hope Poppy Festival from 9-4 and get you a slice.

The Churchlady’s loading up the fellowship hall favorites and headed to the Good Hope Poppy Festival this Saturday from 9–4.

Banana pudding. Peach cobbler cinnamon roll. Butterfinger. Cookies & cream bars. Gluten-free brownies with caramel.

$6 each or 2 for $10. Because around here, we still believe dessert ought to be generous.

Come see us before the banana pudding cookies disappear again.

Well now… the weather may be acting like somebody canceled homecoming, but don’t let that stop you from getting a little sweetness tonight.

The Deacon’s Candy Crunch Butterfinger Bar will be at the Oxford Farmers Market this evening. And honey, this thing could cheer up just about anybody.

Soft buttery bar, creamy peanut butter center, crunchy Butterfinger on top, and just enough chocolate to make you forget it’s gray outside.

We’ll be there from 4-7 with plenty of sweets and fellowship hall favorites.
Y’all come see us, I’ll save you a plate.

XO,
Churchlady

Have you tried the seasonal Peach Cobbler Cinnamon Roll Cookie? It’s a soft sugar cookie swirled with peach cobbler filling made from peaches straight from Dickey Farms in Musella, Georgia, topped with buttery cobbler crumble and finished with a sweet caramel glaze.

And listen… this is NOT one of those “hint of peach” situations. It’s sweet, buttery, cinnamon-y, peachy, and so good you’ll come back for another one.

Find them Thursday at the Oxford Farmers Market from 4-7… while the Churchlady still has some left.

The Churchlady will be set up in Social Circle tomorrow for the Spring Festival from 10:00-3:00, and I’ve been busy in the kitchen getting everything ready.

We’ve got a full table coming with us, including:
• Pastor’s Favorite Banana Pudding Cookie (the one folks keep asking about)
• Holy Chip (triple chocolate, and yes… it lives up to the name)
• Tupperware Classic Oatmeal Cream Pies
• Cinnamon Roll Cookies
• Coconut Cream
• Redskins Pride (red velvet Oreo)
• Church Cookbook Chess Bars
and a few other sweet things that didn’t make it home from the last event

If you’ve been meaning to try something (or just need a little something sweet for your Saturday) come on by and let me fix you a plate.

📍 Social Circle Spring Festival
⏰ 10:00–3:00
I’ll be set up near Bread and Butter.

Around here, we don’t count calories. We count blessings. ♥️
