It never ceases to make me pause and be incredibly grateful when one of our Team (shoutout Alana, today!) calls out, “Lauren, do you hear the energy of the lobby?!” with a grin on their face. The lobby packed, seats filled, a line out the door… Thank you to our Grain Community for the opportunity to serve all of you, and thank you to our Team for making this mighty locomotive continue to chug up the steep hill we’re on 🥰 Even throughout these past 12-18 months while I’ve been grinding extra hard, with the growth being exponential, I always say:
We do this for our people:
• Providing a healthy, fair wages work environment for 40 people we consider and take care of like family, and
• Providing delicious, incredible baked goods, and dare we say dynamite coffee, while
• Being an inclusive work environment and ally, as well an allergen and food intolerance inclusive cafe!
I wouldn’t still be doing this if it weren’t for the people. It’s a whole hell of a lot of sacrifice. Some days, when it’s really hard, and I’m on my second or third 70-80 hour week in a row, I begin to wonder if it’s worth it. But then… I hear the bustling lobby, and my laughing hardworking Team, and I remember the why. 🖤
