Easy pickens today! Our blue crop and bluerays are starting to really put up their numbers for the season. Our dukes have been picked well, yet there are still some bushes out there holding good amounts.

We still have tons of green left, our season isn't close to being done

EVERYTHING is early this year.

I woke up this morning thinking I should probably order some lures, and I did. Got out in the farm, started working in the blackberries and sure enough, it's time.

The insects in general are a little heavier in numbers this year, so I expect a little extra pressure on my traps. Regardless, I'll be there to take them on a one way trip to the burn barrel.

I've expanded my hours for appointments by an extra hour for the rest of the days that I open this week. It's not because you all aren't picking enough, it's because I grew too much! Our dukes still have a good crop on them, and our blue crop and blue rays are really starting to come in.

Our dukes have really surprised me this year with their numbers. For everyone who has been out, you've been amazing. Through the rain and the growing pain, this has been a record breaking start for us. It's improvements like this that I strive for so the farm can stay consistent with its prices.

Added hours for this week-
Tue12-1
Wed 12-1
Thu 3-4
Sat 12-1

I'd rather stretch my hours out than attempt to cram people in.

It was an amazing night to pick last night, and we still have plenty of berries for easy pickens. The blue crop and blue ray are now grouping! We also still have plenty of green berries that still need awhile to ripen, meaning our season should be strong for another couple of weeks. I'm out here mowing today to keep the grass down. There are a few open spots for reservations the next few days. Looks like clouds for tomorrow and potential rain sometime Sunday. I'll post the sign up link in the comments!

We had a lot of amazing hauls today, you all did great! We are getting some blue crop in and they have that robust and acidic flavor as usual. We started having some good start weight coming out of their rows today, some being pictured with these lovely ladies.

I will say that the dukes have exceeded all of my expectations this year. We still have a bunch on, you may just have to move a branch out of the way.

This really has been a fantastic start to the season and I thank you all for your patience. The season caught me off guard this year, I thought we had another week left. Foolish thinking 😅

Appointment spots doubled as of this Wednesday. Duke in the first picture, blue crop in the second. We're also starting to get a little grouping with our blue rays. Normally I would wait until we get a more ripened blue crop before doubling the appointment spots, but this year we've been blessed with a good season for our dukes and we need them picked!

Thank you all for everything. You all are the reason that keeps this place going

Waking up to neighbor friends posting pictures of hail overnight can send a straight shot of anxiety to any farmer. To be honest, I expected a lot more damage. What we actually got was minimal. There are some berries that got knocked off, but nowhere close enough to stop this season. We are still a go, no changes are needed👍

We've opened up appointment spots for the rest of June, starting from the 13th and on. Blue crop and Bluerays are coming in nicely (pictured). I'd like to wait until they are pretty laden before doubling the spots even further. This also could be any day, including tomorrow, it'll just be weather depending. Technically we're still in May as I post this, so any and all planning has been done hastily this year. If a message or comment gets lost, PLEASE re-message me if I accidentally left you on read. I don't *think* I have, but I still want to get back to you all.

It's been a good start to the season, and I'm happy to say that I've never seen the dukes look this productive before. Their berries are quite larger than in the past, and more abundant.

You all are amazing and the reason why we look forward to doing this every year.

This morning's rain is doing a good job keep things clean out in the bushes.

It's also doing a good job at making a big ole mud pit at the entrance. I'll try to spread some rock on it, but just giving a fair warning for those coming in today.

We had some heavy downpours today but that didn't stop this motivated picker. She picked almost 18 lbs singlehandedly through it all! Kudos!

As it stands now it seems we are still pretty booked up. This coming week I'm hoping to see more blue on the bluecrop. We are getting there, and I really appreciate everyone's patience. Once those blue crop are in then the reservation spots should double up. Now, time to get ready for tomorrow by making another batch of lemon blueberry bread
