What a surprise to learn my cookies (that had already been judged) received an Iowa State Fair special commemorative America 250 red, white, and blue ribbon! These were awarded to entries that the fair staff felt captured the spirit of America. I have been decorating cookies for 8 years and sheepishly admit I teared up when I found out as this is by far my greatest achievement ❤️🤍💙

If you find yourself in the Elwell’s building at the Iowa State Fair you will find these tucked away in the wedding cakes display. It is very humbling to see my work amongst such beautiful pieces of work.
My other cakes and cupcake entries, although loved by my neighbors and friends, did not place.
