Just a reminder that crumb. will be CLOSED Friday and Saturday this week while our little bakery team takes a short vacation break ❤️

As much as we love being in the kitchen every week, we’ve learned that stepping away occasionally is important too. Rest matters. Family matters. Community matters.

We’re thankful for the incredible friends, customers, collaborators, and supporters who continue to help this little downtown bakery grow year after year.

Thank you for understanding and supporting a truly small, local business built by people who genuinely care about what we make and who we make it for.

One of the hardest things about running a small bakery is remembering to slow down long enough to actually enjoy life outside of it.

crumb. will be taking a short vacation break, from May 26th to June 2nd, so our family team can rest, recharge, spend time together, and come back ready to bake for you again soon.

Every cinnamon roll, every bagel, every cookie, every early morning… it all comes from a very small circle of family and friends who care deeply about what we make and the community we make it for.

While we’ll be away for a few days, we’re incredibly grateful for the people back home who help keep crumb. moving. This bakery has always been built on relationships, support, encouragement, and people willing to jump in when needed.

Thank you for supporting a truly local, family-and-friends-run bakery. It means more to us than you probably realize.

One of the best parts of being downtown is that you truly never know who might stop into the bakery.

Thursday night, we weren’t even open. We were inside prepping for the Sioux City Farmers Market when some friendly banter with Siouxland Chamber of Commerce President Chris McGowan outside the Art SUX Gallery building somehow turned into Senator Joni Ernst stopping into crumb. for carrot cake, cookies, pecan rolls, and a little Sioux City hospitality. We even slipped the latest copy of Explore Siouxland magazine into the bag.

As Chair of the Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship, it was nice to see someone taking time to experience local businesses and downtown Sioux City firsthand.

Honestly, moments like this are part of why we love being downtown. Even on nights when we’re just working behind the scenes, downtown Sioux City stays full of energy, conversation, creativity, and unexpected connections.

We’re grateful to be part of a community where people explore, support local businesses, and discover spaces like the ArtSUX building.
