Little known fact about Jamaica: It has been mandated by the Ministry of Education of Jamaica that ALL high school seniors are required to take and successfully pass the General Islamic Knowledge course before they can graduate. There are also many other programs, policies and mandate that are geared towards recognition of Islam and Muslims. Jamaica’s Muslim communities make up less than 1% of its population, yet the government recognizes and acknowledges the need for Islam and Muslims to be heard and seen by ALL! Allahu Akbar.
So@when you plan your next vacation to Jamaica, make it a point to visit one of the masajid and learn about the history of Islam on the island. You will be amazed and proud! Allah Akbar!
