Sometimes we don’t get through our sourdough loaves as quickly as we planned, or sometimes an idea pops up that I just have to act on. This morning I cubed up the rest of my blueberry lemon cream cheese loaf and turned it into a delicious bread pudding. You can also do this with plain sourdough. I like to cube up bread and use it right away or I put it in the freezer for a later date!
Ps forgive my recipe- I tend to measure by heart ❤️
Sourdough Bread Pudding:
Roughly 4-5cups of cubed bread- stale is best
1-2 Tbsp melted butter
1 1/2 cups milk/heavy cream mix
5/8 cup sugar
3 eggs
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1 1/2 tsp vanilla
Pre-heat oven to 350.
Place bread in an 8 inch baking dish. Drizzle melted butter over top.
Mix remaining ingredients until smooth.
Pour over bread and press with a fork until all bread is covered and soaked.
Mine took about 45-55 minutes to bake. I topped with a warm vanilla icing and powdered sugar.
You can find my sourdough loaves every week at Tweets Treynor- available Thursday afternoon until sold out!
