As of today, Monday, we are temporarily closed for daily sales. We are continuing to coordinate and complete all pre-paid orders, including custom cakes and wedding desserts.

We are actively working to resolve this ourselves through insurance and financing (which takes several days, if not weeks), and this fundraiser is simply to help us recover faster and minimize further loss.

We’ve started a GoFundMe to help us:
-Repair the electrical matter
-Replace lost and at-risk inventory
-Get the bakery back up and running as quickly as possible

If you’d like to be part of our effort, it truly makes a difference.

We’ll continue to keep you updated as we work to reopen.

For 45 years, Militello’s Bakery has been part of this community, through birthdays, weddings, and fun Saturday morning meet-ups with friends. So many of life’s moments have passed through our doors!

Right now, WE’RE FACING A SERIOUS CHALLENGE.

We’ve had an unexpected electrical issue that has impacted our oven, coolers, and overall operation. We are still open and fulfilling orders—but at limited capacity selling non-cooler goods only. If we can’t resolve this over the next few days, we risk losing the inventory we worked so hard to create, and may be forced to TEMPORARILY SHUT DOWN.

We’re working to push through this—but we decided we cannot do it alone.

As a last resort, we had to set up a GoFundMe drive to help us restore full operations, protect our product, and keep our team working.

Not all of our cakes are flowers and roses! Around here we’ve made everything from underwear cakes to SpongeBob, to adorable baby celebration cakes. 🎂 And they don’t just look fun — they taste as fresh as it gets! A 70° heat wave is headed our way this Saturday, and flowers are already blooming at Militello’s Bakery! 🌸 While you’re enjoying the sweet scent of our bellissimo fiore (beautiful flower) cupcakes, keep your eyes open… our lucky leprechaun has been sneaking around the bakery, leaving gold coins on some of our cakes!”

Today we celebrate the birthday of our owner, Steve Beno! 🎉

Steve’s PASSION for this bakery is truly unmatched. Most days you’ll find him here from 4 a.m. until well past 9 p.m., organizing production, decorating cakes, ordering ingredients, answering the phone, talking with customers, attending local meetings to build new relationships, and doing the countless behind-the-scenes things it takes to keep a bakery running.

Steve is also deeply loyal to his roots. Mr. Militello gave him his very first job here, and the work ethic and pride in quality that started back then continues to guide everything we do today. Carrying on the Militello name and tradition means the world to him.

If you see Steve today, be sure to wish him a Happy Birthday — or drop some birthday love for him in the comments! 🎂

These are lightly spiced with dried fruit scattered inside, and meant to be shared warm with the people you love (plus butter!!) Available daily and for order. Lenny & Patricia celebrated birthdays this weekend, and we were honored to create their cakes! 🎂 From a fun hockey-themed cake for Lenny to beautiful pink florals for Patricia, it looked like the parties were a big hit! Thank you so much for choosing us to be part of your celebrations — we love making your special moments even sweeter!

Make Macomb Your Home page ran a competition for customers to share pictures of their Paczki, and two customers posted from us, and the WINNING PHOTO was with OUR PACZKI!! Yeah!! Thank you Sharon Rygwelski for spreading the good word for us!

We had a very successful paczki day this season, with customers driving from as far away Flint for our product. Another person visiting from Virginia was here, and chose us for her Fat Tuesday day. THANK YOU EVERYONE for your support and love on our busiest day of the year!
