Birthday cake for a girl who loves to read.

I used whipped cream on this cake instead of buttercream that I usually use, I have to admit that it was a lot harder than I expected( especially trying to stabilize the whipped cream), but I am glad I gave it a shot.
My daughter loves to read too so maybe I should consider a ‘book themed’ cake for her next birthday ?!

‘Winter is coming’..that’s all I could think of after seeing all the frost on the car and front yard this morning..

This was one of my toughest cakes just because of all the elements in it..tried to replicate the butterscotch cake we grew up eating in India..

Almond praline between layers, butterscotch sauce and butterscotch frosting.
The throne had a base of rice crispies and fondant swords..

It’s officially ski season for us 🎿 ⛷

l Had been sitting on this picture for the longest time and realized today would be a good day to finally share it 😬

This was a fun one to decorate. I used a palette knife for the mountains, ice cream cones for the trees,fondant for the ski signs and toppers for the people.

A vanilla funfetti cake for my little one who turned a year old back in November 2021

I haven’t baked much since Christmas ! My oven door broke ( right around when I was making the Christmas dinner 🤦🏽‍♀️) and we’ve been going up to Maine for skiing 🎿
As it warms up and our trips stop, I look forward to baking again ! 🎂

Cake number 2 for my 6 year old 😀 we didn’t have any theme this time so just decided to try this hand painted tie dye cake 😀
It took a lot longer than I expected, but I am pretty happy with how it turned out !
What colors would you want to see on a tie dye cake?

Cake inspired by Disney’s ‘ Mira the Royal Detective’ for my daughter who turned 6 last weekend.
Have you checked this series out? My daughter loves it so much that she makes Alexa play the songs from this series all the time and now they’re stuck in my head too 🤷🏻‍♀️

Happy Diwali 🪔 to all of you !

It’s been a busy day with work and making all the yummy mithai at home. This time , I made Jalebi( fried batter and then soaked in flavored sugar syrup) and Satori ( its like a roti or flatbread but stuffed with barfi, almost a forgotten recipe but something I loved eating as a kid)
