☀️🌈Well, GOOD MORNING, everybody!
We are BACK! A little windblown, a little weary, and maybe a few branches short of a full backyard, but we are BACK! 🧁
🥰💯First things first. Every single member of our Smallcakes family is SAFE. Everybody has power restored at home, and that is the ONLY reason we're able to open our doors today.
🥰My own girls in Pensacola are still without power, so after a little hurricane vacation with family in Mississippi—which, let's be clear, was NOT on anybody's October calendar—they are now home with us.
🤝And listen, I know we are among the fortunate ones. We know that not everybody is waking up this morning with electricity, a roof over their heads, or a business they can simply unlock and walk back into. 🙏
And that is NOT lost on me.😥🙏
💰 Now, let's talk business for just a minute:
Hurricane Isaias shut us down for three days! Yes, this means we lost thousands of dollars in special order returns and potential sales. 😬
Now, am I excited about that? Well, NO! I own a cupcake shop, not a money tree! 😜
💕But I believe with my whole heart that we serve a God of abundance, not scarcity.
💪Sometimes the blessing isn't in what comes INTO your hands. Sometimes it's in what you're able to GIVE from them!!! 👏
And THAT, my friends, is worth celebrating.🎉
🎂 So, what does this week look like at Smallcakes?
Well, we're calling it a DO-OVER! 🍂🍁🍃
We're bringing back our flavors from last week because, quite frankly, Mother Nature interrupted our regularly scheduled deliciousness, and I think we deserve a second chance! 🌀☔️⛈️
🥰 So we're not necessarily coming back at full throttle. We're coming back with grateful hearts, willing hands, and as much buttercream as we can muster!
And I want to leave you with this:
Sure, we lost a weekend of business. We lost some sales. We lost some sleep. And I personally have lost count of how many sticks and branches I've picked up out of my yard and surrounding neighborhood....but compared to what so many of our neighbors have lost?
We haven't lost A THING that truly matters. 🧑🧑🧒🧒🧑🧑🧒🧑🧒🧒
🙏We are BLESSED beyond measure!!!
🥰😍And if you've been blessed enough to come through this storm safely, I hope you'll look around today and see where YOU can be a blessing to somebody else.
🤣☺️Because joy isn't just something we feel when everything goes right.
Sometimes joy is what we choose to GIVE when everything goes wrong.
