**VERY IMPORTANT INFORMATION- PLEASE READ ENTIRE POST**
The past 3 years have been a true test of resilience: from the sudden death of my husband, the massive construction project downtown and finally the global pandemic nobody could foresee and plan for. With the continued construction downtown that has both of the streets adjacent to us closed for another 6-8 weeks there is just no way we can financially survive this final battle. It is with a heavy heart and supreme sadness that we announce the permanent closure of Courthouse Donuts in downtown Sevierville. We will begin the process of moving out after Memorial Day. This has not been an easy decision. It truly cones down to me not having the financial resources to withstand another 2-4 months of revenue loss. After my husband died my family lost his income and while the donut shop pays for itself it cannot provide for my family. We can’t do curbside bc we don’t have a curb. We can do delivery but the demand is simply not enough to cover costs of everything. We will fulfill all off-site catering functions that are planned for the months through September. Anyone who had a function planned for March-December 2020 and had paid a $200 deposit will receive a full refund by June 15. If anyone is interested in restaurant equipment or supplies let me know. And hey - If you’ve ever wanted to own your own deli/bakery/restaurant nows a great time to snag an established business for less than one year of it’s annual revenue.

It has been my pleasure to serve the people and the visitors of the county I love so much. Please know this is one of the hardest decisions I have ever had to make but I have to do whats best for my family at this time and I feel that God has something wonderful in store for us and maybe even Courthouse Donuts. There are so many people I could thank for all the love and support these past 5 years but it would take all day. You know who you are and I love you dearly. However, there are a few people I have to thank publicly:
(1) my late husband Jeff for making my dream a reality RIP and know we are gonna be okay
(2) my Dad Gene Trotter - without him my world would have been shattered long ago!!
(3) my brother in law Bill Dyer bc without him my boys would have suffered tremendously
(4) my landlord Ashley Johnson-for his unwavering support and belief that I could make it work

Thank you for pushing us to be the best we could be. We are gonna miss you all terribly. If you have any questions regarding your refund feel free to email me at [email protected]

Opening Update: As many businesses plan their reopening we have made the decision to hold off for just a bit. We will make an announcement by the end of next week. Thanks for your understanding. Please stay well.

COVID-19 Update:
As a collective group of owner and staff we have made the decision to follow the lead of our local court system who has postponed court until April 30. Should things change and we are able to open sooner than that we will keep you posted. We hope to see you soon.

03/24/2020

As you know we suspended daily operations last Wednesday and will be closed until April 6. Lots of people have asked if we were going to do curb-side, take-out and delivery. Unfortunately the answer is no for several reasons:
#1: the safety and well being of our staff and our guests - it just doesn’t make sense for us to ignore the requests of our government when they ask people to stay home

#2: the construction in downtown Sevierville needs no more traffic than has to be there - they need room to work and for us to drive more cars in their way would be selfish

Hopefully everyone understands this decision. Stay well everyone !!

COVID-19 UPDATE:
Amidst such uncertainty business owners must make tough decisions. Today is one of them. I have made the decision that we will close for the remainder of this week. We will evaluate over the weekend and search ways that we can still function as a business thats trying to earn a living during this time, take care of our staff, not give into panic but respect the issue and ultimately stay in business. Thanks for your understanding.

Coronavirus/COVID-19 Update:
Please know that Staff and Guest health and safety is our number one concern. Based on our area and information available to us, We have decided to remain open until we are told we cannot be or until we simply do not have the business to support this decision. With this said we will continue to follow and exceed the standard policies that always earn us 99-100 on all health inspections. We will however be making a few adjustments to the way we conduct business. These adjustments are listed below:

#1: Daily Hours of Operation will be 9:00 am-2:00 pm Monday thru Friday.

#2: All lunch orders will be served in to-go boxes for dine in or takeout.

#3: Canned beverages will be served with a cup of ice. If a guest requests more ice a new cup/ice will be given - no over the counter refills will be given.

#4: Iced tea and coffee will be available but will be given in new cups each time - no self serve stations will be available.

#5: Daily Blue Plates specials will be featured items from our regular lunch menu.

#6: GRUBHUB is working closely with all restaurants to try to help get food to you when you need it. We are on that delivery service so use it anytime between 9-2.

#7: Effective Monday, March 16 we will strongly encourage credit cards and debit cards only. Cash will be excepted if that is the only source of payment a guest has and does not require change.

Please understand we are trying to respect and honor the need to quarantine but we do have the obligation of paying bills and until we can’t be open we will work in a manner that is as clean and safe as possible to protect all staff and guests. If you are running a fever or sick please stay home.

This is how we will operate for now but of course that could change with news constantly being updated. Thanks for all of your understanding. We appreciate each and every one of you and pray that you and your family remain well and safe during these uncertain times.
