The studio table tonight.

Handmade paper clay sheets drying beside vessels and works in progress.

I never know exactly what these pieces will become. Sometimes they become sculpture. Sometimes vessels. Sometimes they wait months before finding their place.

For me, making is about building a library of materials, textures, colors, and possibilities. The same hands that bake bread are also pulling paper pulp, mixing pigments, stitching leather, and seeing what emerges.

Nothing here is finished.

My work is rooted in contemporary mixed media sculpture — layered, tactile pieces created through fiber, paper pulp, paint, leather, stitching, found objects, and reclaimed vessels.

I’m deeply drawn to transformation. I love taking overlooked or ordinary materials and giving them new life through texture, surface, form, and story. Each piece carries evidence of the hand: torn edges, stitched seams, weathered finishes, embedded marks, and imperfect beauty.

These works are not about perfection. They are about memory, process, curiosity, and the quiet art of becoming.

Every sculpture is handmade in my studio in South Alabama as part of an evolving body of work exploring material, sanctuary, and care.

Paper pulp. Coffee grounds from this morning’s French press. Paint. Stitching. Wax. Fragments of leather. Time. Intention.

This piece is part of The Arrival — a series about transformation, memory, texture, and beauty found in unlikely places.
Handmade slowly in my studio on the Gulf Coast, where art, bread, garden, and gathered things all seem to meet in the middle.
