So I know it's been awhile since you heard from me-it's been a crazy couple of months. For those of you who don't know I am also a special education teacher so the beginning of the school year always brings new challenges. This year was particularly difficult as right before we left for our end of summer vacation, I woke up one morning and couldn't open my hands. My fingers and wrists were in extreme pain and I had limited mobility with my hands. It made for a frustrating vacation but the issue kept getting worse. Well it's been about 6 weeks now and I've been to see hand specialist ortho Dr, cortizone injections, ot/pt, acupuncture, had emg nerve test done, etc. I've been living with limited mobility and constant pain on my hands which a couple weeks ago spread to other joints in my body. Noone knows what is causing it. My primary however ordered some blood work and gave a referral to a rheumatologist. In the meantime she gave me a course of prednisone and for the first time in 6 weeks I can bend/straighten my fingers with very little pain. I have done almost zero baking which has been very hard this time of year because I love fall goodies. I've got a cake order coming up in a couple weeks but besides that am limiting orders I take as I allow by body to rest/heal and hopefully figure out what caused this issue. I hope to be able to do my handmade chocolates as usual in November/Dec.
