I had the absolute privilege to do my first ever onsite catering event today, thanks to Ken & Kim Weymuth! I am so grateful for the opportunity to do what I love for people that I love. And to boot-the Governor was a guest at this event, so no pressure at all. 🫣

It was a lot of work both mentally & physically. Many hours spent going over every detail in my mind-over & over again! Plus lots of love & labor put in to every detail. I’m so grateful for the help of my SIL Carrie Capers for coming over last night & today to assist, I couldn’t have done it without her.

Snacks for book club, for a book set in Savannah Georgia-everything has a southern flair because I love a good theme!

Loaded chicken salad croissants-your basic chicken salad + grapes, apples & dried cranberries

Peach bourbon meatballs

Pimento cheese & smokey chili bacon jam spread + crackers

Heavenly cheese grits soufflé style topped with Cajun spiced shrimp

Peach crumble parfaits…peach cobbler meets peach crisp-topped with homemade granola, whipped cream & a praline pecan

And don’t ever forget the charcuterie!

Everyone always says, “is there anything you can’t do?” And it always makes me chuckle because there’s eleventy billion things I cannot do (just ask Andy Guffin). And tonight (or the last 3 days I’ve worked on this project) cake was on the list!

I use the same brand mix every time…zero problems. Same brand but this mix called for butter (lesson learned btw). When I pulled back my parchment paper, it peeled off a lot of my design & most importantly the letters/words that mean so much…HE CAN & !

So enjoy the 7 stages of cake grief with me tonight!

I ran out of room (& frosting)to keep messing it up so here she is…at least I know it’ll still taste good 🫣

Vanilla bean butter cake with strawberry cheesecake frosting & strawberry puree filling. Bid high, not because it looks great but because it’s going to support a fantastic human named Kirstie Palecek Schultz!
