Raise your hand if you’ve been personally victimized by Dairy-Free Milk 🖐

Requests for a non-dairy version of our cake is something we hear daily, and I’ve formed a personal connection (more like a vendetta) with these dairy-free “milks”.

Oat milk, soy milk, banana milk (who knew?), rice milk, h**p milk, pea milk, homemade condensed coconut milk…finding the perfect blend of three (or more) of these is a journey I’ll share with you! Riveting content, right?!

I’ve been able to exclude macadamia nut milk (flavor ain’t right) but all the rest are still contenders. And I’ll promise you this…we will not provide non-dairy until we think it’s PERFECT. ;-)

Hi, I’m Kevin. If you’re new around here, I own Tres Lechería and you probably think I’m always mad when you visit the shop but I promise you, that’s just because of how my eyebrows go 🤣

This Saturday is my last day in the shop. I am moving to LA to make happen. It’s been a goal of mine for a while. I’m finally reaching this goal, but it is in no way credited to me and only me. There have been a TON of people along the way who have supported and helped me in any way they could.

I’m fortunate to have friends that include photographers, designers, architects, artists, and fellow bakery owners, all of whom I’ve been able to lean on when I had no idea what I was doing (plot twist: I still have no idea what I’m doing 🤣) THANK YOU.

I was 25 and it was two weeks before hitting my 10-year anniversary with a company in Texas when I quit. I felt stifled. So I sold all of my stuff and cashed out my very small 401k (don’t do that) and moved to Seattle with a goal of working for Mike’s Amazing Cakes. That didn’t happen. But all of this happened!

I got to work in the wedding industry making elaborate wedding cakes. I got to open my own pan dulce and cake shop . I got to compete on 5 TV shows. I got to essentially open a second bakery with our rebrand to . I got to meet a lot of cool people. And now I get to continue my journey and move again while trying to accomplish a new set of goals.

I am not one to ever sit back and reflect on my accomplishments but I am very proud. I’m proud that I was able to leave my hometown. I’m proud that I was able to create a clean label tres leches dessert. I’m proud of being able to grow our wholesale business because there aren’t many products on grocery store shelves like ours. And I’m proud knowing that this is just the beginning.

Have no fear, the Wallingford shop will keep on keeping on. It is in good hands with my partner Robert ❤️ and baker Stephanie 🐱. Please continue to be nice and for the love of God, quit saying DOLCHAY DAY LEECHEE instead of dulce de leche 😉

Y’all, this heat wave was no joke and took a huge toll on some of our refrigeration/machinery. The shop will be closed today (Tuesday 6/29) and we will reopen tomorrow/Wednesday at 11am. Many apologies! I’ll just be over here, pretending to know about refrigeration and electrical stuff. I just need a rull cute toolbelt 🤣 ❤️
